Saturday, August 7, 2010 MINERS CREEK, SEEPAGE ROAD

We had planned on going to a rock-hounding show in the community center today.  We had lunch in town and decided since it was so crowded and the weather was so gorgeous, we would take a ride instead.  We were told of a couple of places that we might run into wildlife, so off we went.

First, a short drive on Miners Creek Road.  No critters to be seen!

Rocks seem to be able to balance anywhere.
Miners Creek
Next trip is onto Seepage Road.

If you enlarge this picture, look at the top
and you will see the antenna that was on the top of Bristol Peak that we were on yesterday.
Hard to believe we were standing on top of that:
Can't tell where the trail goes, so we get out to check . . ;
Jane finding some interesting tracks
. . . maybe a bear?
Some little deer tracks
Trail won't accommodate the Jeeps, so we explore a little.

There used to be a lake called Seepage Lake down here.
Looks as though it has been dry for awhile.
We actually drove across the old dirt dam.
Another side trail, thru a valley that dead-ended at these Aspens & Pines.

We find another trail & try it.
Jane & I found lots of different kinds of "scat" or as I like to say "poop,"
but I didn't take those pictures!  ;o
So, there's critters here for sure, we just can't find them!
We need to find their living/dining rooms instead of their bathrooms!
