A sad note from our NC friends, Linda, Larry & Brett. They are not going to be able to make it out here this summer. We NEED Brett to build a nightly fire! We wish a speedy recovery to Brett and much success in his life as a college freshman. We miss y'all & hope to see you along the road soon. Next year for sure!
Our fourth attempt at getting to Clear Lake and we were finally successful! Didn't take many pictures on the way up since we have been that way 3 times already, and there are pictures on previous blogs. After we were able to get past the old mine that had been blocked by the snowdrift, we took some spectacular shots.
This is where we had been blocked previously; still a little snow on the switchback.
Headed towards the lake:
Wildflowers starting to peek out.
This may be my favorite shot of the day.
Just a few little "icebergs" still floating:

Running off the lake
Last year Maggie was afraid of the bergs when they moved.
This year, she didn't seem to much care.
Opposite side of lake:
Going back down the mountain:
We watched this marmot trying to pull up a large chunk of grass.
He worked on it for awhile.
Believe it or not, lots of these trails are on the GPS.
Here's what the road looked like on the screen:
Going down.
We all met in town for pizza and then came home to watch the Space Station go over.
And, good-by and safe travels to Gary & Suzanne. Hope to meet up with you again soon.
