Second trip for today is the Minnie Gulch Trail. It is about 10 miles roundtrip and takes a couple of hours. It climbs to an elevation of 11,800 feet and ends at the Kittimac Mine. Also along this trail are some remains of the Caledonia and Esmerelda Mines; aslo relics of the tramway which was nearly 2 miles long and descended 2,000 feet between mine and mill.

We saw a LOT of Marmots today and they were very curious.
They would crawl under the car and climb into the wheel wells and eat the mud??
