We stopped for lunch at the Black Prince Mine area. In the past, we have been able to walk into the mine, but today it was filled with snow.

After lunch, we followed the trail to Gold Lake, in the Little Giant Basin. We had some troubles on the ledge road with the snowdrifts, and were not able to get as far as we usually go. Gold Lake is a beautiful, clear lake.

We kept finding really neat rocks and finally found ourselves down by the creek. If muddy is any indication of how much fun we had, we definitely had a good time. We came home with a muddy Jeep & muddy clothes! This rock had a muddy paw print on it.

It's amazing how thel little flower grow out of the rocks.
The lake runs over and feeds the creek. You can see the old sluice from the gold mine.

Going back across the snowdrift was harder than going up. I guess the snow had started to melt in the sun, and refreeze. The Jeep started to slide towards the ledge a couple of times. Glad Jimmy was driving today!
